Week 2 – New England v Jets – Pregame

Another beautiful Sunday morning, the birds are chirping, the squirrels are scurrying around collecting nuts, the morning air is getting crisper and the Jets are playing the Patriots.  I love this time of year!!

As part of my pre-game ritual I have already read Newsday and scoured some blogs about today’s match-up.  During my morning reading I came across a post about how Tom Brady wishes Patriot fans were like Jets fans.  I thought this was great because Tom hates the Jets but loves the passion of our Fans? You can’t have it both ways Brady!

Jets fans are unlike any other fans. There is no way a Jet fan is leaving the game with a 21 point lead. This is usually where the game gets interesting!  History and the prevent defense has shown that a Jets fan can only leave the game early with a 35 point lead with 2 minutes to go in the game.

Even then we don’t leave.  Unless of course we are getting killed, then it’s safe to leave and beat the traffic.  Monday Night miracles are few and far between.

Week 1 – Ravens Crush Jets 10-9

I was ready for some football this past Monday Night, the Jets Defense was ready for some football, but Mark Sanchez and the NY Jets offense was anything but ready for some football which was evident in a very telling season opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

It was a tough game to watch to be honest and I have watched years of terrible Jets football.  Sanchez looked awfully bad at times and spent more time checking down to find the 4th receiver than he did drawing faces on his coaches family portraits, I am so glad I watched Hard Knocks. I get that Sanchez has to play safe because of his interceptitis but we need him to sling that ball further than 15 yards to have any kind of chance.

After all the issues with Reevis, the Hard Knocks hype, and watching the preseason games, is anyone surprised that the Jets got slapped on Monday?  The Ravens did not throw to Reevis but to our Rookie, and considering the Raven running game was slow to develop, it was the only option the Ravens had and no one saw it coming, including did Rex Ryan.

Now the Jets face the New England Patriots in a Week 2 showdown, am I scared, yes! Welker is looking mighty good week 1 and Moss is lurking, plus we just lost Jenkins for the year.  I hope Cromartie and the rook are up to it and I hope Sanchez is using his marker to go over this week’s play list.

Inspired by Years of Pain

This morning, I decided to pay homage to my favorite team in Green with this website. I built it in 15 minutes, which is exactly how much time Brian Schottenheimer spent developing last week’s offense.

I ripped the NYJ Background this morn but after a cup of coffee and a few more 15 minute blog sites, I’ll replace it with my own (replaced the bkg with a pic from my Camera).  I want Rex off my screen anyway, there’s no way to balance him out.

A new logo is being developed and I am going to start linking to other miserable Jet fan sites so we can share the pain.  Back after a run to DD.
